How to create and customize a logo
One of the most important and complex processes in managing a website is logo designing. However, once you come up with the concept behind the logo, the rest doesn't seem to be that hard. 1. First of all we need to remove the title of the logo and hide the background: open the logo file in Adobe Photoshop, then go to the Layers list on the right menu and turn off three layers by clicking on their visibility indicators. Necessary layers are highlighted in red in the picture below.
2. Now we have to change the background of the logo to make it suit the header. To do this, make logo's background layer visible, go down the tools menu and set background color by clicking on the back square (highlighted in red below). Click on the Gradient tool and select the Paint Bucket tool in the drop-down menu. Now click on the empty space around the logo and it will turn to black.
3. Let's add some effects to our logo to make it different from the current one. Double click on Layer 14 on the right menu. In the opened layer window select options Outer Glow, Bevel&Emboss, Contour and Texture. Double click on each option to set the properties.
The logo colors must not be out of the website general color scheme. So we made our logo appropriate for the chosen web turnkey design. Here is the result:
6. Click "Browse" and chose the logotype file you want to insert. Set this logo as default, using the field below. Click "Save" to update the element. Check the change by clicking on the "Preview" tab.
7. If you want to resize the default logotype, choose the tab “Advanced Content Editing” on the admin panel. You will see elements menu on the left side of the window. Go to "Static content" --> "Site Logotype" --> "Logotype settings" --> "default". Here you can set width and height of your logotype. Save the updated element. Press "Site Preview" tab to check the updates.
