How to create a photography website
Photo gallery is one of the necessary components of
professional websites, no matter whether it is a corporate website or
just a personal page. And in order to provide our customers with an
ability to view and share photos online, Site2You have added an
indispensable to successful website feature – photo gallery. This photo gallery component offers an easier, more intuitive way to view and manage pictures.
As always Site2You is ready to help and today we will try to create an attractive photography website within our advanced website builder. With our easy-to-use photo gallery and this detailed tutorial you will get things done at your fingertips. So, let’s start!
1. First of all we choose a turnkey website design from our vast collection. For our tutorial we’ve chosen the following design:
2. From the very beginning let’s write Meta data for the home page. Go to “Edit Page Layout” and click on “Page Properties” button. Here you can do all necessary changes concerning home page properties: specify page name, HTML page title and other parameters.
3. The next thing we are going to do is to edit the main page appearance. We have to give our website a proper name and configure a menu bar. To change site's logo, switch to “Edit Content” tab and click on “Edit highlighted content” right near the logo area. The same way you can change the slogan.
To edit menu items, click on “Edit highlighted content”
in the menu area. In the opened window you can create a new menu item,
change item's properties, or simply move it to the necessary position.
4. After our news website got its new title and header, it's time to
implement a photo gallery. To embed a gallery, switch to the “Edit Page Layout” tab and hover the cursor over “Add content box” button. In the drop-down choose Photo&Video and drag and drop “Photo Gallery” component to the desired location in your web design.
5. The “Add infobox” window will pop up. Click on the “Add a new element” button.
6. A Photo Gallery has been added to the right side bar of our website design. See the screenshot below.
7. Configuring Photo Gallery settings. Click on the “Edit Content” tab and mouse over the customizing area.
8. Gallery Settings window will open. Here you will
be able to set small photo width and height, middle photo width and
height, images border width and color, images background color, images
horizontal and vertical margins and etc.
9. Our Photo Gallery is filled with the sample photos. To replace these photos, simply mouse them over and click on “Edit highlighted content”.
10. “Edit Photo” window will open. Here you may upload a new image,
edit photo title, specify its date and write a photo comment. While
uploading small and middle images, keep in mind their size you’ve
specified in Step 8.
